Our review policy
Effective November 2, 2026. This policy is part of our Terms of Service and the Cancellation and refund policy.
1. Our commitment
You are free to post an honest review of Clarté, good or bad, on any website or platform, and to describe your experience to anyone. We do not use non-disparagement clauses, gag clauses, confidentiality requirements or penalties connected with reviews in any agreement with consumers (Consumer Review Fairness Act, 15 U.S.C. section 45b; California Civil Code section 1670.8).
2. Definitions and interpretation
In this policy, “Review” means any statement of opinion or experience about Clarté, its services or its team, published or sent to a platform, a website, social media or any public or semi-public audience; “Platform” means a website or service on which Reviews are published; “Claim Procedure” means the procedures for re-cleans, claims and refunds in the Cancellation and refund policy; and “Thing of Value” means money, a refund, a credit, a discount, a free service or any other benefit. Headings are for convenience only. “Including” means “including without limitation”. A reference to a law includes it as amended. In case of doubt, this policy is read in favor of the free expression of honest opinion.
3. How we ask for reviews
We ask every client for a review, neutrally, after a Visit, using the same words for everyone. We do not give a Thing of Value for a Review, and we do not make any service depend on a Review. We do not ask only happy clients and we do not screen out unfavorable Reviews. We do not write Reviews or testimonials ourselves, we do not have anyone write them for us, and we do not use artificial intelligence to create Reviews, ratings or testimonials. The AI characters on this website are not clients and never appear as reviewers. We do not buy or sell Reviews or followers.
4. Refunds, credits and re-cleans are decided on evidence, not on Reviews
Refunds, credits, re-cleans and other remedies are available only through the Claim Procedure and are decided by a person at Clarté on evidence, with written reasons. A Review, a threat to post a Review, or a promise to change, withdraw or remove a Review is never a basis for a Thing of Value. Clarté does not offer, give or accept a Thing of Value in exchange for the removal, alteration or content of a Review, and does not ask a client to do so. This protects honest clients and ensures that every client is treated by the same rules.
5. How we respond to concerns
If you have a concern about a Visit, we invite you to tell us, privately and promptly, through the completion review in your account or the contact form, because that lets us fix it quickly and fairly. This is an invitation and not a condition: you may post a Review at any time, before, during or after using our Claim Procedure. A person reviews each concern against the records of the Visit and the evidence you provide, and tells you the outcome in writing.
6. If a demand is made under a threat
If a demand for money, a refund or other Things of Value is made together with a statement that a false or damaging statement will otherwise be published, we may preserve the demand and the related messages as evidence, and may report it to the Platform and to the authorities. California law describes extortion and related offenses in Penal Code sections 518 to 524; we mention them only descriptively. We say this neutrally and without accusing any person in advance, and we never treat a person who has an honest grievance, who asks for a remedy under the Claim Procedure or who posts an honest Review in this way.
7. How we respond to Reviews
We may respond publicly to a Review, politely and briefly, with facts, protecting the privacy of the client. We do not publish the client’s name (unless the client has already used it publicly), address, payment details, photographs of the home or other private information, and we do not threaten or demean the reviewer. If a Review is from a person who was never our client, or contains private information about our team, we may report it to the Platform and ask the Platform to apply its own rules.
8. Our legal rights
We reserve all of our rights and remedies under the law for statements of fact that a person knows to be false and that harm our business or our people, including claims for defamation and trade libel (Civil Code sections 44 to 46), and for fabricated Reviews. This is a statement of rights, not a threat directed at anyone. Opinions, honest criticism and accurate accounts of a poor experience are protected, and we respect them.
9. Our team
Our team members are employees. A Review that attacks a team member personally, or that includes private information about a team member, may be reported to the Platform under its rules. We support our people, and we also respect the right of clients to describe their experience honestly.
10. Worked examples
Example 1: An honest one-star Review. A client posts that her Visit was late and the kitchen was not clean. We thank her, respond with facts, and invite her to use the Claim Procedure if she has not. We do not ask her to remove it.
Example 2: A request for a refund together with a Review. A client asks for a refund and says he will post a Review. We tell him that refunds are decided only under the Claim Procedure, on evidence, and that he is free to post his Review. We review his request on the facts. If it is valid, we refund it. A refund is never conditioned on his Review.
Example 3: A demand tied to a threat. A client writes that unless she receives a full refund and a free cleaning she will post that our team stole from her home. We tell her that we will review any concern on evidence, that she remains free to post an honest Review, and that we will not exchange anything for a Review. We keep the messages. We do not accuse her of anything.
Example 4: A false statement of fact. A Review states that our team broke an item and the records show that the Visit did not occur. We respond publicly with the fact and may report the Review to the Platform. We reserve our remedies for a knowingly false statement.
11. Interaction with other documents; changes; severability
This policy is incorporated into the Terms of Service and the Cancellation and refund policy. If it conflicts with them on the subject of Reviews, this policy controls. If any part is held unenforceable, it is limited to the extent necessary and the rest remains in effect. We may change this policy for the future; the date above shows the version.

14.z Reviews. You are free to post honest reviews anywhere. We do not use non-disparagement clauses and we never exchange anything of value for the removal, alteration or content of a review. Refunds and re-cleans are decided only under our claims procedure, on evidence; a review, a threatened review or a promise to change one is never a basis for a refund. A demand for money or services made under a threat to publish a false or damaging statement may be preserved as evidence and reported to the platform and the authorities. We may respond publicly with facts while protecting your privacy, and we reserve our legal remedies for statements of fact that are knowingly false. See Our review policy.
